IPL 2022: Format
At the Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, the first game of the IPL 2022 season is expected to take place on March 27, 2022. For the IPL 2022 Tournament, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to add two more new terms. Before the IPL 2022 matches begin, there will be a Mega Audition event. 74 matches will be played over the course of this 15th edition of the IPL, with each team playing seven matches at home and seven away, so a total of 14 games will be played.
This season’s format will be similar to that of 2011 when there were ten teams in the IPL. There will be five franchises in each of the two groups. Kochi Tuskers and Pune Warriors were the other two new teams added in 2011 when there were a total of ten teams at the time.
List Of Players For IPL 2022
The mega audition for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 began on October 25, 2021. Six cities have been shortlisted by the BCCI, and two of them will be added to the IPL 2022 team Player List. Ranchi, Ahmadabad, Guwahati, Dharamshala, Lucknow, and Cuttack are the cities in question.

The RP Sanjiv Goenka group placed the highest bid of Rs. Seven thousand ninety crores and decided to base their new franchise in Lucknow. While Irelia Company PTE Limited (CVC capital partners) wins the franchise bid from Ahmedabad in the amount of Rs. 5625 crores.

The BCCI is delighted to welcome the new teams to the Indian Premier League this season. The increased number of teams has resulted in an increase in the number of games played this season. The total number of games has now been increased from 60 to 74. However, each team will only play the same number of matches.
